My Favorite Kdramas

Hello beautiful people ,

This post is going to be a list of my favorite kdramas . I am a huge fan of kdramas ! Now for those of you who don’t know what a kdrama is , the “k” stands for korean and so basically it is a korean drama . Most korean dramas have their stories and episodes well-planned before they start shooting . There are also few characters so it’s easy for viewers to go with the flow of the story . A korean drama episode lasts for about an hour or so . And they have about 20 episodes ( the least is 16 episodes and the most is 24 episodes ) . Another thing I love about kdramas are good looking and fashionable korean stars ! I get outfit inspirations from the fashion of korean actresses . And a major contributing factor to my kdrama obsession is just how many shows there are out there . Every three months or so , an entirely new batch of dramas air . Plus you can get to know the korean culture through kdramas !

And here is a list of my favorite kdramas !

I watch kdramas on Kissasian , it’s free !

  • Beautiful Gong shim

This drama is about the love story of two sisters and two men . The talented older sister has everything including a beautiful appearance , and her younger sister , who is less attractive but has a warm heart . One of the two men , is progressively more attractive , moved into a humble rental room on the rooftop   of their building . And the other man is handsome and wealthy  from a plutocrat family . The romance – comedy drama depicts an eventful and unpredictable love story by the four people .

This drama is still ongoing . I love the cute interactions between Gong shim and Dan tae !

  • Vampire Detective

This drama is about a private detective called Yoon San who suddenly becomes a vampire . He solves various cases for his clients while also trying to uncover the mystery surrounding himself while maintaining his secret identity as he solves cases using his unique abilities . Unlike  ” Beautiful Gong shim ” , this is a detective and mystery drama .  It’s a pretty good drama even though I didn’t really like the ending . It only has 12 episodes .

  • I remember you / Hello monster

The drama is about Lee Hyun who is an excellent criminal profiler, but he possesses a spiteful tongue.  Cha Ji-An  is an elite detective. She observes Lee Hyun. They work on solving cases and develop a romantic relationship.

This drama is so good , I watched it twice and I can still rewatch it and not feel sick of it haha

  • Liar Game

Various contestants take part in a game show with a prize of 10 billion won. The contestants who can deceive the others , win the prize. Contestants include genius swindler Cha Woo-Jin  and naive college student Nam Da-Jung .

This drama is just so good ! I LOVE it ! It’s based on the japanese manga ” Liar Game ” by Shinobu Kaitani . The drama also has a japanese version but I prefer the korean version !

  • D-Day

A natural disaster strikes the city of Seoul. The whole city becomes paralyzed. Doctors and emergency personnel struggle to save people . Lee Hae Sung is a passionate doctor who would do anything to save his patients . I love this drama !

  • Descendants Of The Sun

Shi-Jin  is the captain of the special forces. He catches a motorcycle thief with Sergeant Major Dae-Young . The thief is injured during his capture and is sent to the hospital. Dae-Young realises his cellphone was stolen by the thief and goes to the hospital to retrieve his cellphone.

In the emergency room, Shi-Jin meets Dr. Mo-Yeon for the first time. He falls in love with her immediately. Mo-Yeon mistakenly assumes Shi-Jin is part of thief’s criminal gang. He proves to her that he is a soldier with the help of army doctor Myeong-Joo .
Shi-Jin and Mo-Yeon begin to date, but due to their jobs their dates don’t go well. Shi-Jin takes an order to lead his soldiers on a peacekeeping mission to the country of Uruk. Meanwhile, Mo-Yeon becomes upset that she fails to become a professor due to a colleague’s privileged background. When Shi-Jin and Mo-Yeon meet again, they talk about their views on life and realise how different they are. Shi-Jin, as a soldier, kills to protect lives and Mo-Yeon, as a doctor, tries to save all lives. They say their goodbyes.
Eight months later, Mo-Yeon rebuffs the sexual advances of hospital chairman Suk-Won  and as retribution is assigned to lead a medical team in Uruk. There, Shi-Jin and Mo-Yeon meet again.
This kdrama got so popular and honestly it is so good ! I LOVE it !

  • Monster

In his youth, Lee Guk-cheol lost his wealthy family and his inheritance to his greedy uncle, Byun Il-jae. He lost everything and descended to the lowest echelons of society, from spoiled rich heir to lowly beggar almost overnight. However, an opportunity arises whereby he is able to obtain a new identity – Kang Ki-tan, allowing him to take back what is rightfully his and enact vengeance on those responsible for ruining his life. However, in his quest for revenge, he meets opposition in the form of Do Gun-woo, the illegitimate son of a chaebol chairman, and Oh Soo-yeon, a young woman who seem suspiciously similar to someone he developed feelings for in his youth. This drama is so GOOD ! And it is still ongoing I heard that it will have 50 episodes !

  • Pinocchio

As a child, Ha-Myeong grew up in a family with his firefighter father, mother and older brother. Ha-Myeong and his older brother both possess higher than normal intellect and are proud of their father. A fire at a waste facility though destroys his family. His mother dies a short time later and Ha-Myeong ends up being scooped out of the ocean by an unknown man .

The man that pulls Ha-Myeong out of the ocean is the grandfather of In-Ha. In-Ha’s grandfather believes Ha-Myeong is his eldest son Dal-Po, who died 30 years ago. Ha-Myeong is then adopted by In-Ha’s grandfather and his name is changed to Dal-Po. In-Ha and Dal-Po now live together as uncle and niece, although they are in the same age range. In-Ha has a Pinocchio Syndrome. Whenever she lies she gets the hiccups. In-Ha and Dal-Po get along well until Dal-Po learns that In-Ha’s mother (Jin Kyung) is the reporter that covered the waste facility fire that destroyed his family. Dal-Po tries to distance himself from In-Ha, but he also develops feelings for her.
Years later, Dal-Po and In-Ha’s family are now living in Seoul. In-Ha attempts to become a reporter like her mother. In-Ha meets her mother for the first time in years at a job interview for MSC Broadcasting Station. Her mother is the person giving her the job interview. In-Ha though fails the job interview. Her mother rejects her because of her Pinocchio Syndrome.
Dal-Po is now driving a taxi to support their family. One day, Dal-Po meets In-Ha’s mother and decides to become a reporter .

  • Madame Antoine

Ko Hye-Rim is a famous fortune-teller. She is known as “Madame Antoine” and insists that she is spiritually connected to Marie Antoinette, but that part is a lie. She is able to see through people’s stories due to her intelligence and keen sense. She dreams of having a love like in romantic films .
Ko Hye-Rim then takes part in a psychological test project conducted by psychotherapist Choi Soo-Hyun . His goal is to prove that true love does not exist. Coincidentally, the name for his psychological treatment center is Madame Antoine.

  • Doctors

This kdrama just started airing two weeks ago and I already LOVE it !

Plot :

Yoo Hye Jung was a tough bully in school with a prickly personality and always goes wayward . She had many scars from her childhood and through self-preservation . Hye Jung keeps her heart shut away from other people . However , she changes after meeting her mentor Hong Ji Hong who plays a keyrole in transforming her life from a helpless gangster to a compassionate doctor .

There are so many interesting kdramas out there , but these are my favorite and I strongly recommend them if you want to watch a kdrama for the very first time !

Thank you for reading ! And by the way , I have an instagram now so go follow me on there please ! ( @learningxenthusiast
